Nubia Garlic

Nubia red garlic

Our Red Gold

The name of the Nubia red garlic comes from the colour of the cloves' skins. On the outside, the bulb appears covered by a thin white layer, but by opening the heads you will discover the vividness of the purple-red skins covering each clove.

Natural panacea

The higher allicin content of Nubia red garlic gives each clove an intensity of flavour and grants it precious beneficial qualities.

We tell the story of our land through genuine products in harmony with the environment and tradition.

Nubia Red Garlic is cultivated in the plain of Nubia, known specifically as the "land of garlic". This small hamlet in the municipality of Paceco (in the province of Trapani) is located right by the sea, swept by the warm and brackish winds that blow over the area.

Aglio di Nubia

The unique microclimate, halfway between land and sea, gives Nubia red garlic the lively and pungent taste that characterizes it. Agricola Culcasi's Nubia red garlic brings the emotions of these landscapes and the flavour of an intense and inimitable land into your home.

Handmade

At Agricola Culcasi, Nubia red garlic is cultivated using traditional methods handed down by old farmers, manually from sowing to harvesting, keeping the product unchanged in its entirety over time.

Sowing

Between November and December, we plant the red garlic in dark, clayey soils. We use whole cloves, burying them one by one in the furrows of the field.

Harvesting

After the spring, between May and June, we harvest the garlic during the evening hours and leave it to dry in the fields.

Weaving

Just like in the old days, we craft the garlic into braids of various sizes to be hung on terraces and doors.

Packaging

For smaller formats, we pack the red garlic heads in convenient packaging that is easy to store at home.

Selling

Now, Agricola Culcasi's Nubia garlic is ready to flavour tables all over the world and bring a piece of Sicily to your home. Discover all the formats in our online shop.
